Genuine arctic experiences

Visiting the arctic is a truly mesmerizing experience, spectacular northern lights in the winter season with a mix of Snowhotel visits with overnight stays, and indigenous Sami people and Reindeer visits, snowmobiling under the Northern lights, Arctic blue light cruises, Whale watching cruises, snowshoeing, x-country skiing and e-fatbike tours will make you wonderful memories. During the summer season it will never get dark as the sun never sets. A midnight sun cruise will never be boring. Also, a hike in the middle of the night in the sunshine is something not easily forgotten. 

Northern Lights

The winter season in the Arctic is truly magical and offers Northern lights with colors both day and night. Experience the Northern Lights and see the colors magically dancing across the night sky. The contrasts in the colors are very strong and will make you forget time and place... There are several means of getting this experience, budget-friendly shared bus tours, private tours in a car or minibus, dogsledding under the Northern light could be a bucket-list point, snowmobiling in the night or Northern light cruises are truly unique experiences, it will always be tailored to your specific needs.

Midnight sun

The midnight sun is a natural phenomenon that occurs in the summer months north of the Arctic Circle or south of the Antarctic Circle. As the earth is rotating at a tilted axis relative to the sun, the North Pole is angled towards our star. This is the reason why the sun never sets above the Arctic Circle. The Arctic region offers wonderful hiking opportunities in the summer and autumn. Hiking in the middle of summer with loads of fresh air and the golden rays of the Midnight Sun on your face is a unique and memorable experience. There are also activities like Midnight sun cruises, Kayaking, arctic fishing, e-fatbiking, sami culture and the worlds northernmost botanic garden.

The indigenous Sami people

Explore the rich heritage of the Sami, the indigenous people of Fennoscandia. Discover their ancient traditions, unique language, and deep connection to the Arctic regions of Norway, Sweden, Finland, and the Kola Peninsula. The Reindeer Sámi are traditionally ‘semi-nomadic’, meaning they don’t stay in the same place all year. Sámi herders migrate with their reindeer during the seasons, heading to the mountains for winter and coming back together with the community in the summer. On the journey, Sámi herders will camp in a traditional tent, called a lavvo. This activity is best enjoyed in the winter season even if it’s still possible during the summer season.

Whale watching

Experiencing the whale in its natural habitat is a magnificent experience. The sea areas off Skjervøy, north of Tromsø, are the whales’ hunting grounds. From November to January, these giant marine mammals migrate towards the coast in search of herring. The cold fjords near Skjervøy are frequented by orcas, humpback whales and minke whales. You may be lucky to see the whales from land, but boat trips offer the greatest experiences. Curious animals sometimes come all the way up to the boat to explore. The wildlife is not the only impressive part of whale-watching safaris. You can also enjoy spectacular views that only Northern Norway can offer.

Dogsledding in the arctic nature

Dog sledding lets you experience the northern Norwegian wilderness in a truly unique way, surrounded by Arctic silence. The huskies greet you with howls, but once the brake is released, it’s silent as they do what they love most: run! Gliding through the Arctic landscape behind powerful dogs is unforgettable. While peaceful, it can also be action-packed depending on the tour. Most trips are in pairs, one as the “musher” and one as the passenger. Guides give a full introduction—from harnessing the dogs to how to drive the sled safely and enjoyably.

Outdoor activities

There are a huge collection of outdoor activities to choose from, why not join a snowshoeing experience in the silence of pristine Arctic forests, or if you are more adventourous you might want to try X-country skiing, different levels of tours will fit all from beginners to more experienced skiiers.

E-fatbiking included guide in Arctic valleys are another activity that is quite stunning, this can be done on private or shared basis.

Ice fishing on frozen lakes with is an activity that will catch many, lower your bait through the hole in the ice, down in the cold water and wait for the big one. Thermo suites are needed and included in the package.

Arctic deep sea fishing is something that should be considered when visiting the upper north, most suppliers do make you a lunch from the catch of the day.

Snowmobile safari with transfers from Tromso

Join a snowmobile adventure in search of the giants mountains and breathtaking sceneries. You will be driving in pairs, (one driver and one passenger) on each snowmobile & travel deep into nature whilst exploring the the majestic and spectacular snow landscape and mountains. Back at camp a hot meal will be served indoors around the fire before you depart. This activity requires an international driving lisence.

Lofoten; Sea eagle safari

Experience the Magic of Trollfjord! Dreaming of an unforgettable adventure in Lofoten? A guided sea eagle safari to the Trollfjord takes you to one of Norway’s most breathtaking destinations! Explore raw nature; Cruise through the fjord surrounded by dramatic mountain walls, scenic beaches, and crystal-clear waters. Meet sea eagles up close, witness Northern Europe’s largest bird of prey, with a wingspan of up to 2.65 meters! We feed the eagles, giving you a unique chance to capture stunning photos. Learn about history and culture; the legendary Battle of Trollfjord and hear fascinating stories of Vikings and the region’s rich cultural heritage.

Lofoten; Winter kayaking – a winter adventure in crystal clear seas

On this guided kayaking trip, you will paddle in calm waters and listen to good stories from the rich cultural history of Svolvaer. When you get out in a sea kayak, you are practically sitting on the sea and can get where you want with your own hands. We use stable double kayaks and all necessary equipment included. Your guide meets you at our base in Svolvaer harbor and gives you the necessary instructions and adapted equipment for the trip. Winter kayaking is only offered to adults.

King crab safari by Rib, incl. lunch

Are you ready to brave the Barents Sea, or go by snowmobile sledding on the sea ice, for an authentic arctic fishing experience and taste the freshest King Crab you can imagine? After getting some mandatory pictures with your big catch, you will help to prepare this delicacy. The Crab legs are served northern Norwegian style with bread, butter, mayonnaise and lemon, and our expert will also teach how to open the legs like a king or queen.

Snowhotel, stay in Ice-suites or Cabins

An overnight stay at the Snowhotel is a true Arctic bucket list experience. Built from connected ice igloos, it features ice rooms and a beautiful ice bar. The warm restaurant is directly connected to the hotel. You’ll sleep in a cozy Ice Suite, with a polar sleeping bag, wool socks, and balaclava. The temperature stays at minus 4°C. Rooms include beds and ice art only. Amenities like dressing rooms, sauna, restrooms, and a lounge are in the nearby restaurant building and open all night. Alternatively, stay in a warm cabin inspired by traditional Sami homes, designed by a Swiss architect.
